Short 4 night break Dad and teenage daughters We have just returned from enjoying just a fabulous stay here. The entire setting and warm welcome then probably the fastest unwinding into the holiday vibe. Has made this a time that will never be forgotten. I have to say the owner and family are wonderful. The manager and all the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Staying here you soon feel as one big family. Go and find out for yourself 👍🧚‍♀️🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 Highly recommended.

Convenient and Beautiful Last minute booking for the long weekend. What a surprise! Jacobs Bay is not only beautiful but so conveniently located for travelling to other places along the west coast. The back packers is beautifully maintained, the staff are super accommodating, caring and friendly. The rooms are basic and clean, the shower facilities and bathrooms are well maintained. They are many communal braai areas and a shared communal kitchen that is well stocked. Bring your own glasses and sharp knives if needed. I will definitely return for the very affordable and homey feel the Plot has to offer!

Lovely place to visit! My friend and I stayed in the stone house, which is a cozy room with a double and a single bed. The shared bathrooms are clean and in good condition, and the kitchen is very well equipped. We had the choice of several braai areas, some very communal and one more private. Trish and Marcel are so welcoming and friendly and we had a great time sharing a braai - Marcel even brought out his guitar. Animal lovers will adore the friends dogs. The pixie garden is beautifully crafted - a labour of love indeed. Thanks for a wonderful stay and always being available. We are definitely coming back.

By far the loveliest little backpackers! Coming there with no expectations and just happy about a place to stay, I was totally overwhelmed and surprised by this gorgeous little place, where you feel like far away from any negativity. Not only the many private little areas, where you can braai, set up a hammock, have a fire, watch a movie etc. the people who run it (thanks again Trish) make it complete. I can only recommend to stop by on your travel and experience the vibe yourself!!! Give Willy a little pet from me 🙂

Mama Pixie and her brother, George, were adopted by their grandparents and grew up on a farm “Mpanza” in KwaZulu-Natal. As a young girl she would spend many days and hours in the forests and rivers looking for the mythical river fairies from traditional Zulu folklore. Throughout her life, she has been fascinated by the silent world of fairies and pixies.

The farm “Mpanza” has since been incorporated into the Zulu Kingdom and is no longer in the family’s hands. There is not much left of it today, but fond memories, broken dam walls, and the ruins of a once-proud Mpanza homestead.

Mama Pixie found her inner peace by creating “The World-Class Attraction”: The Magical fantasy that is the “Pixie and Fairy Village.”

The “Pixie and Fairy Village” is unique by all standards and is a world-famous art attraction. Meals and accommodation are available on site.

If you are lucky, you will meet Mama Pixie and her husband /artist Gerrie, one of the seven Dwarves”. She might tell you a story, a tale, a fairy tale that will leave you entranced and amazed at the positive energies and creative spirit of this living legend “ Mama Pixie” loved by many.

Our story

HOW IT STARTED

The “Pixie and Fairy Village” is unique by all standards and is a world-famous art attraction. Meals and accommodation are available on site.

Clifford Noi who has been an artist for 19 years, has lovingly created the Pixie Village with its many water features.  He has been inspired by books, movies and pictures whilst creating the Pixie Village which he feels has touched his soul.  Dixon Andrew is his apprentice and is also a local artist who sketches and paints.

An onsite shop sells various items including miniature “Pixie Villages” , fairies, pixies, dream catchers, incense, clothes and loads of other interesting items .

We graciously accept any donations of Pixies or Fairies to the Pixie Village!  Come visit us soon and feel the magic!

DO YOU BELIEVE IN FAIRIES?

Well….they are residing in The Pixie and Fairy Village, situated on the West Coast in Jacobs Bay.

This unique Pixie and Fairy Village was created from the whimsical imagination of ‘Pixie’ Maritz, who grew up on a family farm called Mpanza in Kwa-Zulu Natal, where according to local custom, it was where the “river fairies” inhabited the river banks.

As a child, Pixie grew up amid the misty forests, rivers and mountains on farmlands where her imagination flourished. Her deep love for this environment has manifested in the fantastical Village, capturing the imagination of young and old.

Spend time with the Pixies and Fairies amongst their natural forest environment and revel in the ongoing work of innovative artists.  Artists such as Clifford Noi, Trish Lazenby and Marcel Maximilian who have also contributed to the artwork.

Mama Pixie feels that each Pixie and Fairy in the Village has taken on a spirit of their own and has their own identity, she requests that children do not touch them, so as not to disturb their peaceful Village experience.
